Ingredients of Meatloaf (my way)
- It's 1 1/2 lb of Ground beef.
- Prepare 1/2 lb of mild ground Sausage.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Italian breadcrumbs.
- Prepare 1 of Eggs.
- Prepare 1 of Onion, minced.
- Prepare 1/2 of Green pepper, minced.
- Prepare 1 tsp of each, Sage, Pepper, Salt, Parsley.
- You need 1/2 cup of Ketchup.
- Prepare 1 of Additional ketchup for topping.
Either way, this is one meatloaf recipe you will love. Pour into a greased casserole dish and shape it into a loaf. I use a fork to shape it and pull it away from the sides of the dish. In large bowl, mix Meatloaf ingredients well.

- Add ketchup on top as glaze..
- Bake 350° for 1 hr..
- Remove from oven and prop up pan so fat drains away. Let stand 10 min..
- Slice and serve..
In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, bread, egg, milk, sauteed onion/pepper/garlic, salt and a bit of pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands, shape into a loaf and place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Drape the bacon over the loaf, covering most (if not all) of the loaf. Bake for an hour or so and check with an instant read thermometer. My husband and two little children loved it.
